Opening

NEA 2 will foster an openness towards new projects, within the ATLANTIC AREA and on an international scale.

NEA 2 will enable the strengthening of this trans-national network of entities and people who are convinced of the future of the marine leisure sector in the Atlantic Area and who foster development projects. Complementing these three NEA 2 Project development sets of themes, the network will encourage all exchanges of ideas aimed at improving the performances of the marine leisure sector and its attractiveness on an international scale.

Collective reflexions are therefore to be launched, and new cooperation initiatives are to be considered for the period of the project, for example:

• Better coordination of the Atlantic Area in the management of yachting services, in a bid to keep yachtsmen mobile;

• A common and effective offer aimed outside the Atlantic Area in terms of services, products, and technology to make the Atlantic Area capable of responding effectively to the growing demand for marine leisure sector seen on an international scale (emerging countries,…);

• The development of all competitive water sports in order to make our Area a lasting breeding ground for great international champions.

Finally, NEA2 will try to make the inventory of policies programmes (regional, national, European: Leonardo, Youth in action, Culture, Life +, Competitivity & innovation, Leader +, Interreg, FSE, FEDER…) that can contribute to extend &/or accompany the sustainable development of the marine leisure sector in the Atlantic Area.
